Tactics

Boss Pep Guardiola has shuffled his defensive pack, bringing Danilo in at left-back along with Kompany. In goal Claudio Bravo starts a second consecutive game following his appearance in the League Cup win at Bristol City.

Fernandinho will assume the holding midfield role, while Ilkay Gundogan is back in the side looking to continue his impressive 2018 form. The Germany man should occupy a central midfield role along with Kevin De Bruyne - David Silva is out of the squad for personal reasons - with Leroy Sane and Bernardo Silva wide left and right respectively.

Raheem Sterling is likely to be used as the attacking spearhead.
