We take a look at how our Manchester City loanees have fared over the Christmas and New Year period around the globe…

First up, we head to Eredivisie as a number of our stars were involved in NAC Breda’s 3-1 win over FC Utrecht back in December.

All three goals were scored by our loaned players, as Pablo Mari, Thierry Ambrose and Angelino Tasende made up Breda’s goal tally. Mari also captained the side for the sixteenth time this season, while Angelino provided his skipper with an assist too.

Manu Garcia played the full 90 minutes for his loan side, while Paolo Fernandes remained on the bench for the game.

Mari and co will be back in action on 20 January when they take on Zwolle in their first game of 2018.

Now we travel north of our boarder to Scotland. Not too much to report from our neighbours, as Patrick Roberts remains sidelined with a hamstring injury which he picked up towards the end of 2017.

Elsewhere in the Scottish Premier League, Aaron Nemane made a move away from Rangers over the weekend as he has joined Dutch side Go Ahead Eagles until the end of the season – subject to international clearance.

Over to Spain now, as a number of City loanees featured in the Girona squad which suffered a 2-1 defeat to Valencia last weekend.

Aleix Garcia and Douglas Luiz spent the duration of the game on the bench, while Marlos Moreno replaced Johan Mojica on the left-wing in the 74th minute of the game.

Winger Pablo Maffeo started the match, but was replaced by Aday in the 65th minute of the La Liga clash.

In Turkey, Jason Denayer remained on the bench for the first time this season during Galatasaray’s 3-0 win over Bucaspor on Boxing Day.

We finish in England, as trio Angus Gunn, Bersant Celina and Joe Hart were all in action over the weekend in their various FA Cup third round clashes.

Gunn kept Premier League champions Chelsea at bay against Norwich City, as the Canaries ‘keeper secured a clean sheet during the goalless draw at Carrow Road. The two sides are set to meet again in the replay on Wednesday 17 January at Stamford Bridge.

Celina’s side weren’t as lucky, as Ipswich Town lost 1-0 to visiting side Sheffield United, meaning Mick McCarthy’s side wouldn’t progress any further in the competition.

Finally, West Ham will look to replay Shrewsbury Town on Tuesday 16 January after the game ended 0-0 over the weekend.

City loanee, Joe Hart, was recalled to the Hammers first team and made captain for his return to his boyhood town, and managed to keep a clean sheet against the club where he started his career.
