Nicolas Otamendi’s stellar showing in December earned him the Etihad Airways Player of the Month award.
The Argentine defender was your pick over the festive period, fending off stiff competition from the impressive duo of Kevin De Bruyne and Raheem Sterling, who finished second and third respectively.
Otamendi started all seven Premier League games during December and his fine form at the heart of defence continued as the Blues conceded only three goals.
He proved his worth in the opposition penalty area, too, netting from close range against West Ham, before smashing home an acrobatic volley to win the Manchester derby.
