Today we look at our Young Player of the Year winner, Leroy Sane, and a wonderful strike from Fabian Delph.
21Oh Leroy Sane run down the wing for me
Few players can excite a crowd quite like Leroy Sane, a 21-year-old German winger with the qualities needed to reach the very summit of the game.
He arrived at City in the summer of 2016 after impressing at Schalke. His pace and dribbling quality had seen him forge a reputation as one of the brightest prospects in Europe but he was still a diamond in the rough, a player with outstanding natural assets but whose understanding of the game still needed honing.

His first few months at City saw him struggle, but a goal and mesmeric display in the 2-1 win over Arsenal in December 2016 was the catalyst for better things. The second half of his debut season saw him score nine in 25 games goals and, suddenly, he was a regular in City’s starting XI.
But the 2017-18 season saw him improve at an even more drastic rate. He is now one of the most feared attacking players in the Premier League and certainly one of Europe’s premier talents. He scored 14 goals, assisted a further 17 and was awarded the prestigious PFA Young Player of the Year award as City won the Premier League in record-breaking fashion.
The future for Leroy Sane looks very bright, indeed.
22Delph with a cracker!
Fabian Delph enjoyed a fine campaign playing in an unusual role. A midfielder by trade, he was switched to left-back after Benjamin Mendy’s early-season injury and the Yorkshireman never looked back.
The highlight was probably his performance in the 1-0 win at Chelsea, but a close contender was his outstanding strike against Crystal Palace.
With City 4-0 ahead and just a minute left on the clock, Delph collected a pass from David Silva 22 yards out. He took a touch to steady himself, put it on his right foot and curled a beauty past Wayne Hennessey.
Class.
