3Sterling’s late shows
What’s football without drama? Especially when it comes to Manchester City Football Club!
You may be aware we love a late goal (or two!) and this season, there were a fair few to enjoy - mainly courtesy of .
The winger acquired a knack for scoring late - but pivotal - goals, earning himself the moniker ‘City’s saviour.’
The trait began on the Blues’ opening home game of the season, as he struck an exquisite effort to equalise against Everton and he would go on to single-handedly clinch crucial points, gaining his side a healthy points advantage atop the Premier League in the process.
His lofted winner deep into stoppage time at Bournemouth kicked off a remarkable 18-game winning streak for the Blues.
Amongst those triumphs were two more late shows, as Sterling grabbed winners against Huddersfield and Southampton in the space of three days - the latter a last-gasp curling strike, which sent the Etihad Stadium delirious.
There were scenes of sheer ecstasy - you’d have thought the Blues had clinched the title there and then! Sterling ran the length of the pitch, Pep Guardiola leapt into the air and even the injured Benjamin Mendy hobbled over to join the scrum!
As highlights of the season go, this one is up there.

My favourite moment was the 3rd game of the season against @afcbournemouth 👍🏻 I was in Bournemouth in a pub at the time and being a city fan, when Sterling scored that late goal that won us the game 1-2, we were the only 2 people in the entire pub cheering, it was worth it 💙

4Super Kev
Pages and pages of books could be filled, describing the sheer unwavering brilliance of Kevin De Bruyne.
Since the Belgian star donned the sky blue shirt upon his arrival to the Etihad Stadium in August 2015, he has lit up the Premier League with some simply sublime displays, producing moments of magic on a regular basis - under the most high-pressure of circumstances.
He is known to see the unseeable; to perform the seemingly impossible - evident in his constant ability to inch-perfectly thread the most outrageous of passes through five players and straight into the path of their intended target.
It is his creative genius of which we celebrate in today’s feature. De Bruyne collected the inaugural Premier League Playmaker of the Year award with an astonishing 16 assists.
Even better, four City players took up the top spots in the assist charts - Leroy Sane (15), David Silva (11) and Sterling (11).
De Bruyne clinched top spot at the last with a sensational floated pass to Gabriel Jesus on that memorable final day of the season - a fitting way to end a glorious campaign on both an individual and collective level.
Long live the King!
