There is really only one contender for the latest entry in our City-centric A-Z of the World Cup.
The Three Lions launch their latest bid to erase 52 years of hurt on Monday when Gareth Southgate’s man open their Russia 2018 campaign against Tunisia.
And it’s fair to say that City’s England contingent could have a crucial role to play in our campaign.

Reflecting our record-breaking 2017/18 league title triumph, four City players – Kyle Walker, John Stones, Raheem Sterling and Fabian Delph - were all selected in the 23-man squad.
And Walker, Stones and Sterling are all strongly tipped to feature in England’s opening encounter against Tunisia in Volgograd on Monday.
Walker has emerged as arguably one of the most vital players in Southgate’s plans and is set to feature in a three-man defence as opposed to usual right-back role after hugely impressing in the role during England’s warm-up friendlies.
Joining him at the back is likely to be Blues central defender Stones who is likely to be deployed as England’s sweeper thanks to his composure in possession and ability to bring the ball out of defence.
Sterling, meanwhile, having enjoyed the best season of his career to date with the Blues will be one of the key elements in England’s attacking armoury both due to his ability to create chances as well as finding the target.
And after a hugely impressive domestic season under Pep Guardiola, Delph’s versatility – he is now equally adept at playing on the left side of defence as well as being deployed in midfield – means he will offer Southgate numerous selection options over the next few weeks.
England expects… hopefully our City stars can help the Three Lions deliver on behalf of an expectant nation!
