The Roma goalkeeper shades his City counterpart on experience, as an established member of the senior national side with 22 competitive caps.
Like Ederson, Alisson is also admired for his composure in possession and impressive reflexes.
As Blair Newman, a Serie A football writer, wrote earlier this year: there must be something special about the 25-year-old ‘to keep Ederson, who has impressed so many this season, out of the Brazil national team.’

International highlights: Ederson’s solitary cap was acquired in a World Cup qualifier against Chile, in which he kept a clean sheet.
Since earning his first competitive call-up, he has made the bench eight times, including in all three of the Selecao’s Group E games in Russia.
He had been named in the preliminary squad for the Copa América Centenario in April 2016 but was unfortunately forced to withdraw through injury.
He has tasted success on the international stage with the Under-23s at the 2014 Toulon Tournament.
Claiming their eighth title, Brazil defeated France 5-2 in the final, having defeated South Korea, Colombia and Qatar to gain a 100% record in Group B.
