1 Tonne up Pep
Thursday night marked a century of City games for Pep Guardiola. Suffice to say progress is going well! The pace, the balance, the verve, the guile – we were simply awe inspiring between minute 15 and 32 when the goals were scored. Pep’s record now stands at 71 wins, 16 draws and just 13 defeats, with 239 goals scored and 92 conceded.
2 Scintillating Sane
Leroy loves playing Arsenal. His goalscoring performance in the 3-1 win over Arsenal in December 2016 was arguably when his City career really took flight, and his total record against the Gunners stands at played four, won three, goals three and assists one. The watching crowd could have been forgiven for being pressed back in their seats by Sane’s searing acceleration for the first goal - it was electric! He went onto get the second assist for David Silva’s strike before scoring the third himself.

3 Build from the back
Although City were firmly in control at 3-0 up, Arsenal reducing the deficit just after half-time would have made matters interesting. Ederson snuffed out any Gunners hope with a fine save from Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang’s spot-kick – part of a flawless performance from the big Brazilian stopper in difficult conditions.
4 Silva subtlety
Nobody does subtle like Silva. A feint here, a glance there - El Mago sees it all and usually five seconds before it’s even happened. The second goal against Arsenal was a great example of his skills. A less composed player might have tried to take the shot on first time with the right foot, but Silva paused for just a moment, flipped the ball back onto his left and smashed it in.
