Thierry Ambrose was the pick of the bunch amongst Manchester City’s loanees this weekend as he netted in NAC Breda’s win over ADO Den Haag.

The Frenchman was on target for the second game in succession and the 10th time this season, converting a 39th minute penalty to seal a 2-0 victory.

He was joined by Angelino, Thomas Agyepong, Pablo Mari and Manu Garcia who all started for Breda, with the latter again impressing with his nimble footwork and range of passing.

There was more good news from the Netherlands, with Aarone Nemane’s Go Ahead Eagles taking four points from a possible six as they played two Eerste Divisie games in four days.

Nemane was introduced in the second half in both matches as the Eagles beat league leaders Ajax II 2-0 before playing out a goalless draw with AZ II.

Meanwhile, Girona’s 2-0 win over Deportivo continued the good results from our European contingent.

Pablo Maffeo played the full game at right wing-back, his 24th appearance of the season and he almost scored with an angled drive from the edge of the area.

Aleix Garcia and Douglas Luiz both came off the bench in the second half as Girona made it three consecutive wins in La Liga.

It was not so good for Yaw Yeboah in the second division, who was a second half substitute as Real Oviedo lost 3-1 to Tenerife.

It was a tough weekend for our domestic loanees, with Kean Bryan having the most to celebrate as Oldham Athletic fought back from two goals down to draw with Bury.

Playing the entire 90 minutes at centre-half the youngster almost got himself on the scoresheet, but Shakers’ keeper Connor Ripley kept his free kick out of the top corner.

It was a similar story for Bersant Celina, who played out a 0-0 draw in Ipswich Town’s game against Sheffield United.

The lack of goals was not for the want of trying though, with the youngster going close with several trademark efforts from distance.

Hart returned to the West Ham starting line-up for the first time since January but couldn’t inspire the Hammers to victory as they lost 3-0 at home to Burnley.
