It was a remarkable Premier League season for Manchester City.

A series of records were smashed as we won the title for the third time in seven seasons, with our place in the pantheon of great Premier League sides surely now secure.

We scored more goals, won more games and registered more points than any side in the history of the competition. We also managed the best goal difference, most away points and biggest winning margin for good measure. The quality of our football was phenomenal throughout.

But how does our 2017-18 record compare to the winners from across the rest of Europe’s ‘top five’ leagues?

City’s 100 points was more than any other side in Europe’s most esteemed top-flight divisions. Juventus’ haul of 95 in Serie A was our closest challenger, followed by PSG and Barcelona, who both managed 93.

Our 32 wins was also a high, with Juventus’ 30 putting them second. Our record means we won 84% of our games. Bayern Munich, who play four games less in the Bundesliga, won 27 of their 34 matches, giving them a 79% win ratio.

Barcelona were the hardest to beat. They lost once – 5-4 away at Levante in their penultimate game – to deny them an ‘Invincibles’ season. Our two defeats is the second-best record.

PSG scored an incredible 108 goals in Ligue 1, making them the top scorers, with City second on 106. Barcelona, with 99, were third.

Our +79 goal difference was level with PSG as the most impressive. Barcelona’s +70 was the third best on the list.

And in terms of winning margin, Bayern Munich posted the healthiest as they finished a whopping 21 points ahead of second-placed Schalke. Given Bayern play a 34-game campaign, that is incredible dominance. Our 19-point lead over Manchester United puts us second. Interestingly, Serie A proved by far the most competitive, with Juventus pipping Napoli to the title by just four points.

Our record, even when compared with Europe’s best, is remarkably impressive, with our consistency throughout the season worthy of huge praise.
