The photo sees Sergio Aguero, Kevin de Bruyne, Gabriel Jesus, Aymeric Laporte and Oleksandr Zinchenko, as well as Women’s players Steph Houghton and Demi Stokes, taking part in a variety of Christmas games.
From today, fans can shop this year’s festive range by visiting www.mancity.com/shop and at the Manchester City store located at the Etihad Stadium, the Arndale City Store and our Christmas market store in Cathedral Gardens, which opens 9 November.
Two Junior Cityzens were also invited to take part in the campaign. Alfie and Amelia came to City Football Academy for the photo-shoot but had no idea they would be meeting their favourite players on the set. They were also joined by Club Ambassador Mike Summerbee, who is part of the annual Christmas photo for the fourth consecutive year.
The campaign also highlights the Club’s community work both in Manchester and around the world. For every football sold in the store or online, City will donate a ball to one of the Club’s global Cityzens Giving community projects. Cityzens Giving provides resources for projects across 18 cities around the world, with fans given the opportunity to vote how funding is shared.
This initiative forms part of the Club’s wider community activity in Manchester during the festive period. More details will be announced shortly.
Nuria Tarre, Chief Marketing Officer at City Football Group, said: “This year’s Christmas campaign echoes the positive sentiment currently felt by City fans all around the world, following a record-breaking season and such a positive start to our 18/19 campaign.
“Players and fans are ‘Walking in a City Wonderland’, a spirit that we’ve captured in light-hearted festive imagery and our great range of Christmas merchandise on sale for all the family.
“Community is at the heart of everything the Club does, and I’m delighted we are once more integrating Cityzens Giving into this year’s campaign. I’d encourage our fans to shop with us if they’re planning to buy a football this Christmas, so we can continue to support communities around the world through the power of football.”
Kevin de Bruyne said: “We had a lot of fun at the Christmas photo-shoot this year, especially surprising two fans on the day.
“This will be my fourth Christmas at Manchester City and it’s always an exciting time of year in football. The support from our fans helps motivate us through the busy schedule and I hope they enjoy this festive time with the Club.”
The festive range will also be available to shop at Manchester City’s pop-up store at the annual Manchester Christmas Markets from 9 November.
