The century milestone for the 22-year old German winger presents an ideal opportunity for a stats overview of the Sane story so far – and it makes for impressive reading.
As he bedded in during his first campaign, Sane made five Premier League assists and scored three goals – but his second season saw his stats take a dramatic hike.
Leroy ended the 2017/18 campaign with 10 Premier League goals – a 100% improvement on his debut season and created 15 goals for his team-mates which equates to a 400% improvement on the three he managed the season before.

He almost doubled his big chances created stat, too, going from seven in 2016/17 to 13 in 2017/18.
In each of his first two campaigns he also struck the woodwork on two occasions.
Yes, he made six more appearances during the all-conquering Centurions season, but his stats improved in almost every department.
He almost doubled his shots ratio, with 57 up 24 on his debut season and he got 20 of those efforts on target compared with 14 in 2016/17.
That same season, he managed 52 crosses, almost doubling that figure to 93 last year.
So, the big question is – can Leroy go better again this season?
Early stats suggest he can.
With just 10 appearances under his belt in the Premier League to date, Sane has almost already matched 2016/17, with the same amount of goals (three) and is just two shy of the five assists he made that season.
He needs seven more goals to match last campaign’s tally and 12 more to match the assists he totted up and with 25 games to go, he has every chance of topping those figures.
With 27 crosses so far, he has some way to go to reach the 93 of last season, but he has already matched his first two years’ stat of two woodwork strikes per campaign!
Leroy’s overall statistics for all competitions further enhance his reputation.
From his 100 City appearances, he averages better than one goal every four matches and is a fraction short of an assist every three games – another way of looking at that would be that Sane will score 2.5 goals in every 10-match period and create at least three goals for his team-mates.
You’ll also get seven crosses every two games and 3.4 successful dribbles each match – sadly, we don’t have the figures for nutmegs per match!
So, all in all, Sane has played 100 games, scored 26 goals and made 32 assists for City.
He has also collected three winner’s medals and walked off with the PFA Young Player of the Year award since arriving from Schalke two-and-a-half years ago.
You’d have to say that’s a pretty decent return…with much more to come.
