Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola has been named Manager of the Year at the Northwest Football Awards.

Guardiola guided City to the Premier League title with a record-breaking 100-point tally, as well as winning the Carabao Cup after a fine 3-0 win over Arsenal in the final at Wembley back in February.

He beat John Askey (Macclesfield Town), John Coleman (Accrington Stanley), Paul Cook (Wigan Athletic) and Micky Mellon (Tranmere Rovers) to the award.

And Jen Beattie won the Women’s Player of the Year prize, beating off competition from Liverpool’s Laura Coombs, Everton’s Angharad James, Fylde Ladies  Jenna Carroll and Burnley’s Sarah Greenhalgh.

Everyone at City is delighted for both Pep and Jen and would like to congratulate them on their deserved accolades. .
