Oleks Zinchenko hailed Pep Guardiola as ‘the best coach in the world’, following City’s 2-0 victory over Brighton and Hove Albion.

The Blues moved top of the Premier League, thanks to goals in each half from Raheem Sterling and Sergio Aguero, as the home side produced a professional performance to continue our unbeaten start to the league season.

Zinchenko earned a place in the starting XI at the Etihad Stadium with a stellar display in the midweek Carabao Cup triumph at Oxford and the defender credited his manager’s motivational skills as key to City’s success.

“He is the number one coach in the world and he wants to see the best of us,” he stated.

“For us, it was important to get three points. We had a lot of chances to score but Brighton are a good team defensively and have quality players in front.”

Zinchenko added he hopes the Blues will take our recent impressive form into the midweek Champions League trip to Hoffenheim.

City kicked-off the 2018/19 European campaign with a disappointing home defeat to Lyon, and the wing-back asserts a victory in Germany is imperative.

“Of course, the Champions League is important to us so we hope to get the three points,” he continued.
