City have 10 players listed in the prestigious FIFA 19 player ratings top 100, with Kevin De Bruyne ranked higher than any other Premier League star.

Each year, players are assessed on their exploits over the past 12 months and then allocated rankings for various skills and ability – and this season, the Blues have a record number of players included.

FIFA 19 say: “The ratings showcase the top players in the game based on their performances from the past year of world football. These are the top 100 highest-rated players in FIFA 19 and FIFA 19 Ultimate Team™.

The highest of all the Blues included is De Bruyne, who comes in at No.5 and is the highest ranked player from the Premier League – quite a feat.

KDB lost out to Mo Salah in last year’s PFA Player of the Year awards, but the Liverpool star is some 22 places lower in the FIFA 19 list.

FIFA 19 say of De Bruyne: “Yet another exceptional Belgian making his mark at the highest level, De Bruyne runs the show for Manchester City and played a huge part in the reigning champions’ title run.

“His 92 Passing is his greatest asset as a playmaker, but De Bruyne is also wildly elusive on the ball with his 87 Dribbling, so he’s always finding himself with options. And whether taking a direct free-kick or taking a shot from open play, De Bruyne is an elite finisher who boasts an 86 Shooting rating.”

The next highest City star is Sergio Aguero, who clocks in at No.20 on the list after yet another 30-goal haul last season and of our Argentine superstar, FIFA 19 write: “Aguero has come up big for Manchester City over the years, scoring crucial goals at some of the club’s most important moments.

“But even with this history, the experienced Argentine striker remains at the top of his game, able to beat nearly any defender with the ball at his feet (89 Dribbling) and finish even the most impossible-looking chances (89 Shooting) that come his way.”

Four places lower is David Silva, of whom FIFA 19 say: “Another midfield virtuoso, Silva’s career is decorated and impressive, and he’s not done yet. Often moved around in midfield to get the best out of his myriad talents, the Spaniard is a pure playmaker no matter where he ends up on the pitch.

“He pulls the strings and marshals his troops with intelligent, technical 91 Dribbling abilities and pinpoint 87 Passing that opponents are rarely able to contain.”

Further down the list are Nicolas Otamendi (63) and Ederson (66), with our Brazilian keeper described as having “ridiculous reflexes”.

Leroy Sane is at No.70, with Fernandinho two places lower at 72.

Skipper Vincent Kompany, despite missing several games with injury, still ranks at No.88, with Raheem Sterling (97) and Riyad Mahrez (99) just making the cut.
