Pep Guardiola will assess the fitness of Bernardo Silva and Oleks Zinchenko over the weekend, ahead of Sunday’s Premier League trip to Crystal Palace.

The pair missed the midweek Champions League clash against Tottenham through injury and the Catalan boss admitted he does not yet know whether they will be available for selection to face the Eagles at Selhurst Park.

“They are better,” Guardiola declared. “We will see today (Friday) and tomorrow.

“They are feeling better but I don’t know if they will be fit for Sunday.

“In a few positions, we have enough players. In others, we have problems but we are not in the process to think about anything other than the next game.

“From now until the end of the season, every game is a Final. We will play with the team that is the best to face them based on physicality and the personality of our players.”

City travel to Palace, having fallen to a 3-2 defeat at the hands of the Eagles at the Etihad Stadium back in December.

Guardiola expects a similarly challenging contest and highlighted the areas he feels the London outfit pose threats.

“Selhurst Park is always a difficult place to go,” he added. “Not just for the stadium but for the quality of the players they have in all departments.

“They are really well-organised and they have the quality to do well in one-on-one situations.

“They have done so well – 11 points clear of relegation. They have had incredible results.

“Roy Hodgson is experienced with quality and different experiences in different countries. Last season, when he took over, they stayed in the Premier League and he’s built on that this season.

“We have six games left of the Premier League. We know what we are playing for and we are going to prepare well.”
