John Stones has suffered a rectus femoris strain and will miss today’s game at home to Tottenham Hotspur.
The defender will be assessed and a prognosis is likely next week.
Stones, 25, enjoyed an impressive pre-season and was outstanding last weekend as we began our bid for a third successive Premier League title with a 5-0 win away at West Ham United.
