The defending champions head into Saturday’s game against Brighton and Hove Albion having recorded two wins and a draw and occupy second place behind last season’s title rivals, Liverpool.
Zinchenko admits dropping two points is far from ideal, but he believes Pep Guardiola’s side should be satisfied with our early season form and ahead of the Seagulls’ visit he has called on his team-mates to ensure they show their best week in week out.

“We started well, winning the Community Shield and we’ve got seven points from three games,” he said.
“Of course, that’s not what we wanted, but I think we’ve done well. We’ve done a good job.
“It’s going to be a long season and everyone is going to drop points, I’m pretty sure of that.
“We just have to show who we are as a team in every single game.”
Having started all three matches so far, Zinchenko has picked up where he left off in the left-back slot he made his own at the end of the 2018/19 campaign.
However, with Benjamin Mendy returning to full-fitness and Angelino added to the ranks during the summer, the left side of City’s defence is one of the most competitive areas in the team.
It leaves Guardiola with a number of options, not just in terms of bodies, but styles too.
Both Angelino and Mendy bring an attacking, overlapping mentality to the role, while Zinchenko’s measured, passing-based game allows him to move inside and add an extra man in midfield.
They’re differences the 22-year-old feels can benefit all three players and he says the trio have been working well together in training.
“When you have one game a week you have more time to train on some details and that’s what we are doing,” he added.
“Everyone is learning from each other. I’m pretty sure we’ll help each other in the future.”
