Meanwhile, Guardiola sent a heartfelt message to his friend and Barcelona legend Luis Enrique, whose nine-year-old daughter, Xana, lost her battle with cancer on Thursday.
He said: “On behalf of City family my family myself deepest deepest condolences to Luis Enriique to his wife Elana and sister and brother for their loss.
“Their little daughter. We knew it was not good but you dream everything goes well.
“I don’t have words, I have nothing to say, you want to see reason for existence.
“Hopefully he can feel from myself and Manchester we are here.
“Hopefully I can see him soon and tell him that I love him.”
