It’s the Stockport-born midfielder’s first Premier League start of the campaign.
Gabriel Jesus leads the line again, fresh from his superb Champions League hat-trick, and Benjamin Mendy, another star performer in Croatia, keeps his place at left-back.
Pep Guardiola makes five changes to the side that won in midweek, with Ederson, Kyle Walker, Fernandinho, Raheem Sterling and Kevin De Bruyne all returning to the starting XI,
John Stones, Sergio Aguero, Aymeric Laporte and Leroy Sane are all out injured, and David Silva hasn’t quite recovered from the knock he suffered in the defeat to Manchester United a week ago.

Tactics
It’s the usual 4-3-3 for City.
Ederson is protected by a back four of Walker, Fernandinho, Otamendi and Mendy, with Rodri offering additional protection just in front of them.
Foden and Ilkay Gundogan will bring quality in guile in midfield, and Raheem Sterling and Kevin De Bruyne will play just off Jesus.
It’s a side packed with quality and attacking intent, whose primary focus will be dominating possession and controlling the game.
City will need to be solid. Arsenal may not be in the best form, but they remain a side with plenty of goalscoring threats, particularly Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, who has scored 13 goals in 20 matches this term.
Stats
Head-to-head
Arsenal have lost their last five games against Manchester City, including the 2018 League Cup final, which gave Pep Guardiola his first trophy in charge.
The other four defeats came in the league - Arsenal haven’t lost five consecutive top-flight matches against one side since doing so versus Manchester United between September 1983 and August 1985.
