Rodri says his performance against Burnley was somewhere near the level he wants to play at every game for City.

The Spaniard was superb against the Clarets, capping a fantastic display with his second goal for the Club.

He also warned City’s title rivals that the champions won’t give up their crown unless it is mathematically impossible to retain it.

“It was a good night for us. It was a needed victory for the team,” said Rodri.

“We were having a party because we needed the victory for confidence.

“It was important for us. We’re doing our best, but sometimes you don’t get the results.

“It’s a long way to end of the season, but as I say, it’s important for us.

“We started very well against our opponents knew exactly what we wanted to do Our intensity was there – it is the way to do it.

“It was a great goal for me at an important moment for us. I don’t have many chances around the area. I want to shoot and score goals when I can..

“I think the first adaptation myself is complete - I want to be the best version I can be.

“The result helps me to have that confidence; I’m feeling good in the team.

“We still have every chance to win the title.

“Until the maths says another team has won, we will, give everything, fight until the end. We will see the best version of City now.”

The Spain star also praised two-goal Gabriel Jesus, adding: “Gabriel is a fantastic player, very young, but plays like an experienced guy, scoring goals.

“We need him, all the guys in the front – it was important for him and for the team

“He players his own way, not thinking about anything else. He knows what it is. It is not easy to score goals, but he has the personality to do it.

“We need his performance and his goals.”
