Game by game for Blues

City know with an 11-point gap to leaders Liverpool that dropped points are not really an option in the games to come over the next few weeks.

Liverpool’s relentless start to the season has meant the Blues have not been able to chip away at the Merseysiders’ lead, only watch it increase.

But there is time.

The champions’ form of late has stuttered somewhat and a trip to face Burnley would not be at the top of the ‘next venues’ list, but it is a ground where the Blues have prospered in recent times.

Sean Dyche’s side are a very real threat from set-pieces and, as Pep Guardiola intimated at his press conference, giving needless free-kicks and corners away must be avoided as much as possible.

Keeping possession and not allowing the hosts to build up a head of steam will be key to winning his game.
