Gabriel Jesus hailed the Blues’ togetherness after we returned to the Premier League summit with a hard-fought 2-0 win away to Everton.
The substitute’s rebounded header in second-half stoppage time, his ninth goal in his last eight appearances, sealed the three points and a return to top spot for the Blues.
Aymeric Laporte had initially put us ahead on the stroke of half-time when he rose highest from a free-kick, and Jesus was quick to praise his teammates rather than his own individual achievements.
“Everyone won the game, because we knew it was going to be a difficult game,” the Brazilian explained following the victory.
“We need to work hard and tonight we went onto the pitch to win the game because we want to win the title again”.
Despite the result moving us back to top spot in the Premier League for the first time in almost two months, Jesus was keen to place more emphasis on the performance rather than the victory’s significance in the title race.
“I think we really want to play well every single game and win the games and of course the Premier League because it’s an amazing league,” the forward revealed.
“We love football, so we go onto the pitch to play well and win the title.”
