Sergio Aguero spoke of his delight at having scored his 10th Premier League hat-trick got City.

Following a defeat for Pep Guardiola‘s side at Newcastle in midweek, City ran out comfortable winners against Arsenal, but the highlight was undoubtedly Aguero‘s latest treble.

Asked whether he thought his hat-trick goal was handball, the Argentinian admitted his match-ball securing third was slightly fortuitous.

“Today was number 10, I am very happy,” said Kun. “I thought it came off my chest, but now I see on TV it was a handball.”

Sergio now trails Alan Shearer by just one Premier League hat-trick in the all-time Premier League list.

Team-mate Fernandinho added, “It was the referee’s decision, it was a goal, and it doesn’t matter.”

City took the lead within the first minute of the game after Aguero headed the ball past Bernd Leno in the Arsenal goal and Fernandinho believes the Blues controlled the game and deserved three points.

“We wanted to get back on track, playing good football,” he said. “I think today with the service, because we went from the first minute that we scored another early goal, I think we controlled the game and we deserved to win.”

Despite another sublime display from Aguero, the hat-trick hero admitted that a win for the team was more important than any personal accolade.

“Today it was very important to win because the other day I score after 25 seconds and we lose the game. But today I am very happy.”
