The Blues were at our bewitching best against the Londoners with Sergio Aguero claiming a hat-trick, Raheem Sterling scoring twice and Ilkay Gundogan also on the scoresheet.
A third league win in seven days following our victories over Arsenal last Sunday and Everton in midweek, also saw City return to the top of the Premier League with Blues leapfrogging back above Liverpool on goal difference.
And asked at his post-match difference whether the performance was one of the best at home since he became City manager, Pep was unequivocal in his verdict.

“Yes. We played good, the first four times we arrived we scored. Sergio made an incredible goal, but it wasn’t easy, we defended deeper like never before,” said Guardiola.
“They had one chance but they caused problems and found the space.
“(Scoring) Six goals against Chelsea is not easy. Not just for today, but for Arsenal and Everton too. Now we can have two days rest and start preparing for Newport (in the FA Cup next Saturday).
It was further evidence that City are hitting our collective stride having responded in formidable fashion after our surprise loss at Newcastle 11 days ago.
But Pep insisted that no-one at the Club would become complacent with a tough FA Cup fifth round assignment away at League Two Newport County next on the agenda followed by a rematch with Chelsea in the Carabao Cup final a fortnight today.
Asked if City were finding our collective best form now we are in February, Pep pointed out: “One week ago we played Newcastle, remember?!
“The final of Carabao Cup, now it’s tougher as they (Chelsea) will react.
“We need to analyse the performance from today. Three games this week have been tough playing the way we play with this intensity and desire.
“The players were outstanding. I said to them thank you to them for what they’ve done.”

It all made for a tough afternoon for Guardiola’s Chelsea counterpart Maurizio Sarri with City handing Chelsea their heaviest league defeat in Premier League history.
And in offering words of support for the Italian, the Blues boss also highlighted the special support and backing he had received from the Club since taking charge at the Etihad.
“My first year was difficult too. It needs time and only depends on the owners and the people in charge really believing in that,” Guardiola added.
“The main reason I came to City was that my bosses, especially Txiki and the chairman understood me.
“They believe in me. That’s why I’m enjoying it here in Manchester. Today we were really good and that’s why we won.”
