Mendy has played just 28 minutes since returning from a long-term knee injury and missed the games against Burnley and Newcastle, while Ederson suffered a knock in the midweek defeat at St James’ Park.
Previewing Sunday’s crucial clash against Arsenal, Guardiola revealed all of his squad were in training on Friday, bar skipper Vincent Kompany.

“Today, except Vinnie, the others have taken a training session,” he stated.
“I don’t know [whether Mendy will be fit to face Arsenal]. After the minutes he played against Burton away, he had two or three days without training.
“In the last two training sessions, he was able to train and we will see day by day.”
Following Tuesday’s disappointing defeat to Newcastle, Guardiola demanded improvement, as the Blues look to close the gap on league leaders Liverpool once more.
“We have to improve our game,” he asserted.
“We have to be focused. Unai Emery has done quite well in his first season with new players.
“Always, he has done an incredible job and now we are here. He has done very well and Arsenal will always remain a danger.
“They have very nice midfield players – young guys with lots of quality with Lacazette and Aubameyang and Ozil. They are a top side.
“We are not happy about the last performance. Everyone knew at half-time and at the end of the game.
“If we didn’t have motivation, then we would not be here. We have another final and the Club finished first in the Champions League [group stages] so we are there.
“Of course, it is a process that many times people say we might have ‘the perfect teams’ but every game, we need to improve and see what we can do better.
“We want to sustain the top level. This week, it was difficult for United and the top six to win their games. There were a lot of games and sometimes it is a challenge and it is tough.
“The team know our principles and how to improve – simple things, a few things. Against Newcastle, we didn’t create or do something different.
“We can see what we have to do for the next game.”
