Sean Dyche, Burnley manager admits he make changes for today’s game against City.

“Burnley has become a recognised place outside of this area because of years in the Premier League,” said Dyche.

“We’ve changed the team more this season, some because of necessity with the early start in the Europa League; some because of the ups and downs of form and therefore I’ve felt that I had to.

“The cup then sort of mixes in with that this year, whereas usually it would be more specific to just the cup.

“We’re trying to get everyone back fit, we’ve got some who are on their way back to fitness who need a real challenge of a game.

“My expectation is to put out a side that can play and perform and to have the intent and mindset to win a game.”

City knocked Burnley out of the FA Cup at last season’s third round stage, beating the Clarets 4-1 at the Etihad.

This is the fifth FA Cup meeting between the sides – City currently lead 3-1 in victories with Burnley’s last triumph also the first meeting between the clubs in the competition back in 1931.

Manchester City faced Burnley in last season’s FA Cup, winning 4-1 at the Etihad in the third round.

The Blues have lost just one of the last 20 meetings with the Clarets, winning 13 and drawing six.

Burnley’s last FA Cup away win against a Premier League club was in 1999 – they have lost 10 and drawn three of their last 13 matches against top flight opposition in the competition.

City are looking for an eighth successive win in all competitions and a sixth consecutive clean sheet
