Bernardo Silva has added the UEFA Nations League to his ever-growing list of major trophies.

The City midfielder played the full 90 minutes as Portugal beat the Netherlands 1-0 in Porto to win the inaugural tournament.

The 24-year-old, superb all season as City became the first men’s side in history to win every single major English honour, was the architect of the winning goal, bamboozling the Dutch defence with a fine pass into Gonçalo Guedes who fired past Jasper Cillessen.

He was also named Player of the Tournament during the after-match ceremony.

Portugal qualified for the Nation League finals weekend by topping a group containing Italy and Poland.

And on Wednesday they defeated Switzerland 3-1 in the semi-final to qualify for this evening’s showpiece event.

Everyone at City sends their congratulations to Bernardo on yet another significant milestone in his burgeoning career.
