Season’s highlight
Danilo is very much your archetypal Brazilian defender in that you can take the boy out of Brazil, but you can’t take the samba out of his game.
Whenever the former Real Madrid full-back plays, you can sense his will to get forward and attack and when he gets the chance to shoot, he’s not afraid to have a punt from distance.
Last season it was a stunning goal at Burnley, this season it was another long-range effort away to Huddersfield Town.

Collecting a pass from Kyle Walker, Danilo struck a drive from more than 20 yards out that - via a slight deflection - gave the keeper no chance to put City ahead.
He ran off to celebrate with Bernardo who was on the bench at that point, with his team-mates clearly as happy for him as he was.
Overview
Danilo may not have been a first team regular during 2018/19, but he was an excellent squad member who still made 22 appearances.
The Brazilian right-back filled in when needed for Kyle Walker, but also occasionally dropped in at left-back and on occasion, the odd central defence cameo.
Every successful squad needs players like Danilo – somebody who is patient, can do a variety of roles and never gives less than everything in training.
And he was perhaps unfortunate not have played more often, because every time he did play, he looked accomplished, solid and dependable.
Danilo is also a threat going forward and never shy of having a strike a goal and though his only success came away to Huddersfield Town, he went close on several other occasions.
A team player in every sense of the word.
