Bernardo Silva dedicated City's fine 2-0 win against Fulham to Bernard Halford after the Blues regained top spot in the Premier League.

City resumed our Premier League campaign  after the international break with an impressive win at Craven Cottage. Goals from Bernardo and Sergio Aguero were enough to secure the three points, which helped us go a point and a place ahead of title rivals Liverpool.

Bernardo put in a man of the match performance, and then dedicated the win to the late Bernard Halford, our Life President who sadly passed away in midweek.

“Everyone was sad for the news”, said Bernardo. “He (Bernard) was a very important person for the club and the fans, so this win is for him.”

The City midfielder’s opener means he has now scored in three successive league games, but is more focussed on what the win means for the team’s title chances.

“It’s most important for the team to keep winning”, he added. “Then if its me scoring or Kun [Aguero] or Raz [Sterling]  or Leroy or Riyad it doesn’t really matter, what matters is 3 points.

“We were very motivated, knowing that Liverpool had one more game than us, knowing that they were top of the league and we had to get back there.

“First we had to start the game with intensity and that’s what we did especially in the first half, we played very well and created many chances, it’s 3 more points, and onto the next one knowing that we have a very busy schedule.”

“When you’re top of the league, its in your hands. We know if we win the seven games that we have left, we’ll be champions. We know our opponents are strong but we’ll try to do it.”

Kyle Walker came close to extending City’s lead when his shot rattled the post in the second half. He echoed Bernardo’s ambitions for the rest of the season, and praised his teammates for their performances so far.

“It’s a pleasure to play with these players”, added Walker. “It’s a joy every day, to go to training and learn from them. Hopefully it can continue, we’ve got a busy month, and an important one.

“I think we’ve done well all season, obviously we had a little blip, hopefully that’s behind us. Apart from that though we’ve all played well.

“We need to take each game as it comes and pick up victories in all of them hopefully.”
