Ederson's battle to claim the Premier League's coveted Golden Glove prize is going down to the wire.

The Manchester City goalkeeper finds himself in a duel with Liverpool ‘keeper Alisson for the prestigious award.

Each year the Golden Glove, presented by Cadbury, is awarded to the goalkeeper who keeps the most clean sheets over the course of the Premier League season.

Ederson has enjoyed another stellar season between the sticks for Pep Guardiola‘s side starting every single Premier League game.

With the Brazilian having secured another shut-out in our crucial 1-0 win against Leicester City at the Etihad Stadium on Monday night, it means Ederson has successfully kept 20 clean sheets this term.

Meanwhile, Liverpool goalkeeper Alisson has also managed to keep 20 clean sheets this campaign.

It means the battle to claim the Golden Glove will go to the final day of the season with City - who are one point ahead of Liverpool at the top of the Premier League  - travelling to Brighton and Hove Albion whilst Jurgen Klopp’s side play host to Wolverhampton Wanderers.

This season is only the second time in Premier League history that more than one goalkeeper has kept 20 clean sheets.

The previous time this happened was the 2008/09 campaign when Manchester United’s Edwin van der Sar and Liverpool’s Pepe Reina both surpassed 20.

If Ederson ends the season with the same number of clean sheets as fellow Brazilian Alisson then the pair will share the award.

In equal second place on the list of clean sheet are Chelsea’s Kepa Arrizabalaga and Everton’s Jordan Pickford who have both achieved 13 shut-outs.
