Manchester City welcome Leicester City to the Etihad Stadium hoping to secure a win and return to the top of the Premier League.

Here are three talking points ahead of the game...

1Home comforts

City could reach yet another milestone this evening.

Should we score, it will be our 100th goal at home this season and the first time ever that we’ve reached this tally.

And who would bet against Pep Guardiola adding another record to the long list he has already set since taking charge.

With 56 goals, City have scored the most times at home in the Premier League and have hit the back of the net in every game league game at the Etihad this season.

Here’s hoping that trend continues this evening.

2Flying Foxes

This is no easy game – Pep said as much.

Leicester have picked up 16 points since Brendan Rodgers arrived at the Club at the end of February.

Only City and Liverpool have won more in that period and the Foxes arrive in Manchester on the back of a fine 3-0 win against Arsenal, boasting two of the league’s in form players in Jamie Vardy and Youri Tielemans.

The former has netted six goals in his last five games, while the young Belgian has three goals and four assists in nine appearances.

They’ll be confident and nullifying Tielemans’ supply line to Vardy will be vital if City are to emerge victorious.

3Sending a message

A win is needed to ensure we keep our fate in our own hands going into the all-important final day.

How we get that win matters slightly less, but the impact of the nature of the display will not be lost on Guardiola and his players.

If City can turn in the type of blockbuster performance which is so difficult to live with, it will reinforce that we head into the season finale in fine form.

Equally, if we’re required to produce another gritty display like we did at Burnley, that too sends a positive message.

Win well and City look unstoppable but grinding out a victory would once again reveal this team’s steely determination and ability to win no matter what.
