Pep Guardiola has revealed there are no fresh injuries ahead of our second game with Southampton this weekend.

Though Angelino had to come off in the second half of the Carabao Cup tie with the Saints in midweek, the boss has confirmed he is available if needed.

“Everybody is fit,” said Pep. “Obviously, the guys who are injured are still injured. The guys who are fit are still fit.

“Angelino is OK – he was just suffering from cramp.”

With Fernandinho also available again after suspension for Saturday’s game with the City boss admitting both teams will have learned something from the other from the Carabao Cup tie.

“Of course, we have learned some things,” said Pep.

“They play five at the back, four in the middle and one up front.

“For the last 10 minutes they try to regain the ball high up the pitch, while the rest of the game they defended deep.

“It was four days ago. It’s close. Maybe it will change. We have to prepare for everything.”

Pep also revealed Eric Garcia is close to challenging for regular Premier League football along with other Academy graduate Phil Foden, while praising Tommy Doyle’s progress.

“Right now, Phil Foden is ready. Eric Garcia is close because every time he plays at an incredibly high level.

“He doesn’t make mistakes. The other young players have to work and work and work.

“As for Tommy, of course it’s important to have a relation with the local players. It depends on the quality of the players.

“You have to deserve to be there. The problems we have had with injuries, and because we know him from pre-season, are the reasons he played.

“It was nice to watch him. He is 18, he is a good player. It is good for him and his family.”

Finally, Pep wished England’s rugby union squad and coach Eddie Jones well for tomorrow morning’s World Cup final against South Africa.

Jones has observed Pep’s coaching sessions and has stated he is an admirer of the Catalan’s management skills and the City boss added: “I wish him and England good luck.

“It’s an honour for England to be in the final. For him, for his staff, for his players. All the best. It’s an incredible event.”
