Making his first Premier League start, the defender played a key role in the comeback, providing the assist for fellow full-back Kyle Walker’s match-winning effort with four minutes remaining.

Crediting the squad’s mental strength, Angelino was naturally pleased with his personal contribution and hopes there will be more memorable moments to come in sky blue.
“We didn’t give up,” he reflected. “We are a strong team with a strong attitude and we showed it.
“We had a tough game – they gave us a hard time, trying to lose time. It worked quite well.
“We fought until the end and got the win. We know we’ve got quality players up top and we knew the chances would come – top players will finish their chances.
“Kyle had a really good game – he got an assist and a goal: what more can you ask for? It was a strong game from everyone.
“It feels great to get my first 90 minutes in the Premier League. Hopefully, there will be more to come.
“We have to keep working all together.”
City’s win kept the Champions apace with league leaders Liverpool, who entertain Pep Guardiola’s men in a crucial top-of-the-table encounter next weekend.
Angelino admitted it was pivotal City claimed all three points against the Saints – as the Reds did in dramatic fashion at Aston Villa – but insisted his side are not thinking too much about the trip to Anfield just yet, with Wednesday’s Champions League visit to Atalanta the immediate priority.
“We have to win – we want to win every game,” he stated. “That’s our aim and that’s what we need.
“It’s a massive week. We focus now on the Champions League – the first game we have next, which we also have to win.
“Then we focus on the next game – not the ones far ahead.”
