Nicolas Otamendi is happy with the way City’s season is going.

Though the champions trail Liverpool by five points going into this weekend’s fixtures, the Argentinian defender believes it has been an impressive start to the campaign so far.

He also says the Blues will be treating every game as a final as they look to cut the Merseysiders’ lead advantage in the coming weeks and months.

“We are doing well,” said Nico.

“We have to face each game as it is a final for us. We always fight for three points and try to go as far as we can in all competitions.

“We are giving 100% to get three points in each game and I hope we’ll have a positive season overall throughout the season – and I’m sure we will.

“I think each season is different, but this season is been good for us.

“I think we always have things to improve on.

“If we have a good match, for instance, all the mistakes we may have we tend not really overthink, but we always work on training to try to fix it, improve our mistakes.

“We have had some set-backs with injury but I think we are coping well and will be looking to continue our good form against Wolves on Sunday.”
