The October Etihad Player of the Month vote is now open.

As always, there were numerous candidates for this prestigious monthly fan award.

Last month saw Riyad Mahrez triumph over Rodri and Kevin De Bruyne with what was a record number of votes, but October sees three new names up for the award.

So, here are the October nominations....

Raheem Sterling

Five goals for City and two for England, on a personal level October was a scintillating month for the City winger.

He also made four goals for his City team-mates with Pep Guardiola calling him an “extraordinary talent”.

Ilkay Gundogan

An excellent month for the German midfielder/

Gundogan has been showing something close to his best form throughout October, with his sizeable contribution often going under the radar.

The versatile City star has been slotting in the anchor role as and when needed and capped off a fine month with a killer third goal against Aston Villa.

A player Pep Guardiola can’t speak highly enough about.

GUNDO GOAL : Ilkay Gundogan enjoyed that one - and rightly so!

Ederson

Our brilliant Brazilian’s ability to keep the opposition out sometimes gets overlooked in favour of his technical skills with the ball at his feet.

Case in point, it was his ;long punt towards Gabriel Jesus that resulted in Sterling‘s crucial opener against Aston Villa.

But he has made some outstanding saves during October, with at least two stunning stops in the 2-0 win at Crystal Palace - but there have been plenty of other highs from a keeper who just keeps getting better.
