Sergio Aguero has won a record-breaking seventh Premier League Player of the Month award.

The Argentine picked up January’s gong after scoring six times in three appearances - becoming the highest oversees scorer in Premier League history in the process.

In what was a memorable month for the striker, his hat-trick in the 6-1 win at Aston Villa was his 12th treble in the Premier League, which means he surpassed Alan Shearer’s record of 11.

Aguero has now moved above Harry Kane and Steven Gerrard, who have both been awarded the Player of the Month prize on six occasions.

Congratulations, Sergio!
