City suffered a scare when then Belgian midfielder went down under a collision against Manchester United in midweek, which resulted in him being withdrawn in the closing stages, but Pep Guardiola says he suffered no ill effects.
However, the fit again Aymeric Laporte will not be involved at Villa Park.

The City boss also revealed that while there have been encouraging signs since the Frenchman returned to training, it is too early to know when he will be available for selection again.
“Kevin is fine,” said Guardiola.
“Laporte is not in contention yet. He’s training every day. He’s finishing the training with no pain and can train the day after. That’s good news.
“I don’t know when he’ll be ready to start playing some minutes. From what I see on the pitch he moves well. It’s been a long time. I think the operation was good.
“We’ll wait for the doctor to say he can start to play.”
Guardiola will exercise the same caution with Leroy Sane.
The German winger handed the City boss a further boost this week, as he took his first steps on the training pitch since the knee injury he suffered in August.
And though he remains some way from being considered for selection, Guardiola says he will welcome the additional options both Sane and Laporte give his team.
“I want all the players back,” he added. “I have more alternatives.
“There are specific qualities for every player, so when we need to make incredible runs in behind, Leroy is the best.
“Aymeric with his left foot, playing on the left side, his speed and how good he settled in this league since he arrived, of course it’s important for us.
“But we have to respect the process. When they are ready, I will think about using them.”
The Catalan’s immediate focus is on Aston Villa.
City journey to the Midlands on the back of the impressive victory over United and unbeaten in our last five games.
Guardiola has made a host of changes during that busy festive period and hopes his players can maintain their current form against a side with a talisman he admires.
“Jack Grealish is an exceptional player,” Guardiola explained.
“I didn’t know him before I came here. He played in the Championship. He is an exceptional player, honestly.
“It’s a historic club with a fantastic stadium. They changed their set-up, with five at the back rather than four at the back.
“Unfortunately, they had a big injury in the last week. We’ll try to maintain the dynamic we have.”
