The England squad, which features seven players from MCFC’s amputee team, has won their first three games of the competition in Rio de Janeiro including beating the hosts Brazil 1-0.
City’s Lee Wolfenden is currently leading the goal scoring with three goals while both Lee Dobson and Dave Tweed have found the back of the net twice each.
The competition features representatives from Russia, Brazil, Ukraine, Sierra Leone and Turkey. Each side is made up of players who have lost a limb - with outfield players allowed to have two arms but only one leg, while goalkeepers may have two legs but only on hand.
The Blue’s amputee team have been English league champions for the last two years and during the 2003- 2004 season managed to go through the entire campaign unbeaten.

The club’s community scheme City in the Community (CITC) runs a number of teams for young people with disabilities as well as organising weekly sessions in special schools across Manchester and Tameside.
