The England all-rounder took part in a penalty shoot-out against Joey Barton a fortnight ago, just before his recent ankle operation, with Nicky Weaver doing his best to stop them both between the sticks.
“Freddie” spoke to mcfc.co.uk after the shoot-out, and it was clear he was delighted to have made the visit.
“City have a fantastic set-up, there’s nothing like this in county cricket,” said Flintoff. “The England team has a national centre at Loughbrough but the facilities here at Carrington are superb. I had met Nicky a few times before and I really enjoyed going up against him and Joey in the shoot-out.”
The shoot-out features in the ‘Ready Steady Freddie’ segment of Cricket AM, which starts at 9.00am on Sky Sports 1 on Saturday.
