Sven-Goran Eriksson has declared himself pleased with his City side's 2-0 victory over Shrewsbury last night.

Late goals from Bernardo Corradi and Paul Dickov gave the Blues a deserved win and afterwards Sven said: “I thought we played rather well first half, but we have to score goals, it seems like we are saving the goals for the start of the Premier League.

“There were a lot of chances, but it’s good that we made the chances. We played two teams and we’d discussed it a lot and I wanted to do that today because I wanted to see all the squad.

“On Saturday it won’t be like that we have to think about the week after and which team I want to start against West Ham. It was good to try it and a good work out for all of them.

When questioned whether he had a better idea regarding his starting XI, Eriksson revealed: “Yes of course I do, but I’m quite sure something will happen soon with new players coming in and that’s very good.”
