The 24-year-old’s move to the club was finalised on Friday and after his first training session with the squad he spoke of how he was looking forward to getting stuck into life in England.
“I feel fine, I’m looking forward to this new adventure and I want to play as soon as possible,” said Rolando.
“It’s going to be a demanding challenge, it’s a new style to me but I think I will adapt very soon. It’s a very exciting challenge for me.”
The striker, who scored 18 times for Reggina last season, says that the Blues’ new boss was instrumental in persuading him to make the move to City.
“Mr Eriksson played an important part in my coming here. I spoke with him on the phone many times, and I like him as a person and as a coach. He explained his plans for Manchester City, they were very exciting and that’s why I accepted the offer to come here.”
Rolando also took the time to describe his attributes for City fans that as yet don’t know that much about him.
“I’ve always been a good header, but I’ve become stronger and fitter over the last few years and I think I’m a more complete player now. At the same time I want to keep improving, both physically and technically.”
