The teenager normally plays on either flank in defence, but his blistering pace was utilised on the right of midfield to great effect in the first match of City’s visit to Sweden.
After playing a big part in Rolando Bianchi’s goal and hitting the post, Shaleum rounded off a fine evening by scoring City’s fourth goal, and reflecting on his display Sven said:
“Shaleum is normally a right or a left back, but I think that he did very, very well and he impressed me. He’s yet another Academy player who looks at home, both in training and during matches.
“I’ve seen a lot of him in the last 10 days and he’s looked very sharp. I like him very much, he has displayed a great attitude in training and he’s very versatile, which could be very useful for us.”
