Classy midfield maestro Dietmar Hamann has won the Thomas Cook Manchester City Player of the Month for August and September.

The German star has been outstanding in the role he makes his own with some vital displays since the season started. Micah Richards, Richard Dunne and Kasper Schmeichel could all have been winners, but the panel gave the award to the 34-year-old.

Goalkeeper Richard Martin has claimed the Reserve Team Player of the Month award after the former Brighton keeper joined City on a short-term contract prior to the start of the season.

Eric Steele said of Martin: “He deserves the award for both his attitude and performance in games.

“His bravery, dedication, and willingness to learn set an example to every young player trying to make his way in the professional game.”

Scott Kay rounds off the awards for the month after his contributions towards the now commonplace sight of the City Under 18 Academy side at the top of their league.

Highlights of today’s ceremony will appear on MCFCtv.com in the near future.
