The boss, who arrived at the club less than a fortnight ago, is using the down time at the training facility to the west of Manchester to make changes to the way it works ahead of the resumption of pre-season training.
He told MCFCTV.com: “We’ve got less than a month now and there’ll be a few changes in the operations here. There are a few issues we need to address in the way that the building works, and that’s an ongoing process.
“It’s a bit difficult at the moment because people are away, and the training ground is not working as it would do during the season anyway. We’ll have to wait a little bit to see who does what, which door opens into where and how we can make the way things will run as smooth as possible.”
But despite the players being away from Carrington, plenty of staff are still coming in as normal and Mark is making sure that he and assistant Mark Bowen are getting to know people as quickly as possible.
“It’s about getting to know people as well, I’ve only been here for a couple of weeks so it’s been about introducing myself and getting my message over to the staff that are here. I’m trying to put over where we want to go and how we intend to do it. There have been a lot of meetings, a lot of introductions but it’s exciting and I can’t wait to get started properly.
“In a way it is a bit of a shame that there are still a couple of weeks until the players come back, but it will come around very quickly and then we can get stuck in.”
