Darius Vassell and Gelson Fernandes have won the final two Thomas Cook Player of the Month awards for the 2007/08 season.

Swiss international midfielder Fernandes takes the prize for March after a string of consistent performances in the heart of the midfield.

Vassell is April’s first team prize-winner, justified reward for a month where bagged two goals and was as selfless as ever, either playing on the flanks or coming off the bench to do whatever job was required of him.

City’s reserves finished the season in second place in both the Barclays Premier Reserve and Pontin’s Leagues, and two stalwarts of these sides also get recognition. Adam Clayton takes the March award and Sam Williamson is the April winner, the left back having also made his first team debut against Portsmouth in the same month.
The Youth Team’s cup win does not go unrecognised either, with Andrew Tutte the Academy Player of the Month for March, the combative midfielder playing a big part in the semi final win over Sunderland.
