Before the match against Fulham on Saturday April 26th Blues supporters had the chance to try a range of sports such as football and basketball, while finding out how to lead a more physically active lifestyle.
Getting Manchester Moving aims to raise awareness about the importance of physical activity, its benefits and where these activities can be accessed.
Funding from the Football Foundation will allow the club’s registered charity, City in the Community, to provide a range of activities for city fans throughout the season to encourage healthy eating and physical activity.
Manchester Health Trainers offered free health advice and the Getting Manchester Moving Street Team encouraged fans to sign up to the project and pledge to make a difference!
Getting Manchester Moving is a unique partnership between Manchester City Football Club, Manchester Public Health Development Service and Manchester City Council, has already seen over 340,000 hits to the campaign’s website www.gettingmanchestermoving.org.
The Football Foundation is also funding activities throughout the year, ranging from family days, summer activities for children and physical activity challenges - they will all be based on the theme of ‘small changes, big differences’.
