Of Andreas Isaksson, Sven said: “I think he was very unlucky. The goals he conceded – he couldn’t do anything about and of course he was very down in the dressing room.
“He’s had the chance to play and then he concedes eight goals despite how well he played.”
It was Isaksson’s first start in a City shirt since December and he is expected to leave the Club in the summer in search of more first team opportunities, but he showed no signs of rustiness with a couple of fine saves during the match.
Obviously Isaksson and City’s cause were not helped by the 15th minute dismissal of captain Richard Dunne for a foul on Tuncay.
Afterward Eriksson reflected: “I think it was a little bit unlucky and maybe the referee couldn’t do anything about it.
“It looked like the knee of Richard that touched the striker, but that was unlucky for us and didn’t help our start.”
Whether the sending off and subsequent booking of Jihai Sun later in the game will have any bearing on the Fair Play table remains to be seen as Sven added: “I don’t know what’s going to happen, but I think we will know that during this week.”
And finally on his situation, the Manager wouldn’t be drawn, simply turning it around to the players on the pitch.
He stated: “It’s still the same and I can’t speculate but it shouldn’t make a difference out there.
“If we are professional we shouldn’t allow a defeat by so many goals. It was one of those days were nothing went right.
“I’m just sorry for the fans who came to support us as usual.”
