The Blues defender, who meets his former side Chelsea tomorrow, says he doesn’t need television pundits to tell him when he has played badly and has insisted that the knocks have not affected his confidence.
Thirty-four times capped England international Bridge was dealt some stinging criticism by Match of the Day’s Alan Hansen.
“Alan Hansen said some things and Mark Hughes said some things back. I don’t like to think about it too much,” he insisted.

“He said a few things that I am not going to cry about. I have just been training hard and I am still confident. I feel I have done well the last few matches.”
Bridge is determined to continue that upward curve against the league leaders tomorrow.
“They are flying in the league but they have to drop points at some stage and hopefully it will be against us,” he went on.
“I don’t think it will be an open game but I think they will come to win and hopefully that will give our attackers chances to score. We showed against Arsenal how clinical we can be if we are given the chance.
“I still talk to the lads at Chelsea but I came here to win things and to get into the top four and the Champions League. I think we are still on course, we have the team that can do it,”
While (Bridge) might not have had the best experience at Chelsea, I think he has plenty of time to make up for it and accomplish a lot...
