Roberto Mancini believes that Italian coaches and English clubs are the perfect mix.

The new City chief has followed Carlo Ancelotti, Fabio Capello, and Gianfranco Zola into management in this country and makes no secret of his admiration for the Premier League.

“The Premier League is, for me, the best there is and it is better for Italian football that there are several coaches working here. It is good experience. Italian managers are good technically and tactically and coupled with the spirit and mentality of British players and clubs it is a good mix.”

Mancini says he will take a long hard look at his squad before he decides on any changes once the transfer window opens in January.

“I don’t know if January will be busy or not,” he insisted. “We will lose Kolo Toure and Emmanuel Adebayor for the African Cup of nations and we have two or three bad injuries at the moment so that is my main concern.

He has though been impressed with what he has seen so far from his new charges.

“I think I can do a good job here because we have good players. The training was good today and there were no problems, I told them they have to believe in themselves and that we can win things if we work hard,” he concluded.
